![]() Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)Q: Why is it called "Tabfest"? Q: What is the band schedule for Tabfest 2008? Q: Where is the Mendon Speedway? Q: Tabfest rulz!!! I mean, here are the Tabfest Rules: Q: Is there an additional cost for camping or parking at Tabfest?
Why is it called "Tabfest"?A: Tabfest attendees are encouraged to collect aluminum can tabs year round so that they can bring them to Tabfest for donation. Talk about little things adding up. The tab of a standard soda can is made of a high-quality, high-grade aluminum. By itself, it doesn’t mean much. When collected, pop tabs can add up to a valuable donation to Tabfest. And that means a lot. Though the whole aluminum can is valuable, the tab is made of a more pure form of aluminum. So when that little tab is turned in for scrap metal, it can make a big impact on Tabfest fundraising. It’s smaller and cleaner than collecting whole cans, so it’s easier for Tabfest to handle the large volume it receives. Plus, it’s convenient, ecologically friendly, and does not compete with other can recycling programs. But...we recycle the cans at Tabfest, too. Just because. But we're not going to call it Canfest. That would be silly.
What is the Band Schedule for Tabfest 2008?A: That is soon to be announced. Check back soon.
Q: Are all festivals held at the Mendon Speedway hosted by the Harmony for Ohio Foundation and Tabfest?A: Accept No Substitutes! There is only one Tabfest. Tabfest is a non-profit, charity event hosted once a year by the Harmony for Ohio Foundation. Other, for-profit events hosted at the same venue are not connected or affiliated with Tabfest. The Tabfest vibe - which involves great music, great atmosphere and the joy of helping others in the community – can only be found at Tabfest.
Q: Are dogs allowed?A: Regretfully 2007’s edition of Tabfest marked the first year that we were unable to host dogs at our event. For the past ten years Tabfest had proudly been one of the last festivals in the region to maintain a policy of hosting friendly dogs and responsible owners. Due to the growing insurance liability and associated costs, we must regretfully enact a "no dog" policy for Tabfest beginning with 2007. Know that many of the directors of the Harmony for Ohio Foundation/Tabfest along with our volunteer staff are dog owners who annually enjoyed Tabfest with their canine friends. We are extremely sad and disappointed that we will not be able to bring our dogs to the event as well. Below are a few of multiple kennels that are local to Tabfest. We encourage dog owners to contact a kennel to make plans to enjoy Tabfest 2008 knowing that your dog is being cared for. Tabfest RulesHi and welcome to Tabfest. We hope you have a great time this weekend. To ensure all attendees’ fun and safety, we have provided a few Tabfest ground rules. Failure to abide by these ground rules will result in immediate expulsion from the Mendon Speedway. • No underage drinking is permitted at Tabfest. Please be responsible on the grounds, and please be respectful of other Tabfest attendees. We would like to continue to provide this festival for many, many years, and we need your commitment and responsible support to help our cause. Have a great time! Should you have any questions or comments, please seek out a Tabfest representative wearing a STAFF t-shirt. Thanks again for attending. We hope you have a fantastic time. Sincerely, Tabfest organizers are not responsible for items damaged, lost or stolen while at this event. While all measures have been taken to ensure a safe, fun weekend, visitors enter this venue at their own risk. Tabfest attendees voluntarily assume all risks and dangers incidental to the event, whether occurring prior to, during, or after the same, including without limitation injury, death, etc. and attendee agrees that the facility, promoter, organization, agents, contractors, participants, and/or related persons are not responsible for any injuries, expenses, claims or liabilities resulting from or related to such causes.
Q: I heard that if I collect one gallon of aluminum can tabs, that I get into Tabfest for free. Is that true?A: While we wish we could offer that sort of an exchange program to all of our attendees, we unfortunately cannot. The Harmony for Ohio Foundation (who produces Tabfest) is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit corporation. Our mission is to RAISE FUNDS through musical performances for the direct support of Ohio-based, not-for-profit organizations whose programs provide comfort and care to children and families in need. So we are EXTREMELY GRATEFUL for the generous tab contributions that we receive every year. But we also rely on ticket sales to Tabfest so that we are able to make monetary contributions to our charities. That being said, the Harmony for Ohio Foundation is pleased to announce that Tabfest 2008 will feature the our Annual Tab Collection Contest as a small way to recognize the tab recycling efforts of our dedicated attendees. Think you (or your group) have collected more tabs over the past year than anyone else? Well this is the year to prove it. Simply drop off your tabs at the front gate's Collection Checkpoint, and our courteous staff will weigh them and record your donation's weight. The top three donations (by weight) will be recognized with an on-stage mention and will be rewarded with a Tabfest Tab Collection Contest Gift Bag! The Gift Bags will feature CDs from a variety of Tabfest bands, Tabfest T-shirts and two tickets to Tabfest 2009!
Q: Is there an additional cost for camping or parking at Tabfest?Nope. Camping and parking are included in your ticket price. Note that Thursday night Early Bird Camping will cost you $10...you pay at the gate. |
